First, I would like to thank you for visiting our web page and inquiring about our agency. Our primary goal is to promote and serve the citizens and visitors of our beautiful County of Greene, with the best law enforcement service possible.
As the Chief Deputy/Major of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office it is my responsibility to assure that all Agency Operations are operating effectively and efficiently per the guidelines established by the administration and adopted by the Sheriff. As the 2nd in Command only to the Sheriff, I implement, train and research for new and better ways of providing the best law enforcement service to our community, through all of our personnel. It has been a great experience and an absolute pleasure to serve the citizens of Greene County during my tenure to date.
I began my career in 1994 with the Greene County Sheriff's Office, as a deputy. I continued my career in law enforcement by accepting a position with the Albemarle County Police Department in 1998, which is located just south of Greene. I obtained many training classes and was promoted from patrol officer to my final rank of Detective, investigating crimes against persons (Homicides, Rapes, Sexual Assaults, etc).
In 2004, Scott Haas campaigned and was elected Sheriff of Greene County. Sheriff Haas graciously offered me the position of Chief Deputy and I accepted, making my return to Greene County.
I have participated in many fields during my career; here is a list of some of those fields- Incident Command, Tactical Team Commander, Tactical Team Member, Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, Bike Team, General Instructor and many more. I currently have 14+ years of law enforcement experience and I’m involved with many community functions, groups and projects. I’m also very involved with coaching the youth of the community.
I’m a father of two wonderful children, a son and daughter ages 9 and 14 respectively. |
